MOTOCROSS HAS ME HOOKED! CENTRAL VILLAGE, CT - RACE 3 OF THE 2007 ACR SEASON
The ride from Haverhill, MA to Central Village only took about 1.5 hours. The ride was really nice as the weather was PERFECT. My wife Kim and her father met me at the track right after pratice. I walked the track - the entire track. To be honest, the track kind of intimidated me. The track had no real hills or elevation changes, but it did have jumps - lots of jumps. Table tops, double jumps, big rollers, all kinds of jumps. I realized that in order to do well I would have to do all of the double jumps and hit the table tops as hard as I could. In pratice I proved to myself I could do all of the jumps on both of my bikes. I also knew that they would easier to do during the race. What was really amazing to me was that the guys on the really old stuff were doing the doubles! I lined up for my first race with the RM465 and it decided to foul a plug on the line. Kudos to the guys holding the gate for me as I tried to start the bike, but it was a lost cause. Race one, DNS... Race 2 on the 465 I got a 3rd - figures! Got a 5th and a 7th on the RM250. I felt really comfortable on both bikes - I think I finally have both of the bikes set up really close. I also can't imagine a more perfect day - clear, sunny, just the right temp, and a nice cool breeze all day long. Next race will be on July 7th at Broome Tioga in Binghamton, NY. SEE YOU AT THE RACES!
Central Village was a tough track! ACR again did a bang up job running the races and the crew for the track was top notch. Check out the picture I took of the club house. There was a full kitchen and eating area on the first floor, with a huge open area on the second floor. The club at Central Village really takes pride in their track.
