I found that this was "my" sport. I found that I hated to lose. I found that I had the totally wrong bike for this sport.
With help from fellow racers, I rebuilt the track in the pasture. BIG jumps, whoops, uphills, downhills, and some spooky long straights. It was awesome.
I rode the PE until the motor stuck. I rebuilt it and went out to practice again. I discovered how to tune suspension - I could attack sections faster and faster.
The next summer rolled around and Grandma, bless her soul, sent me a fat check for high school graduation. Half went to college, half went to a brand new KX250.

Bell Moto 3 helmet. JT Vented pants and jersey (I still have the jersey). Jones goggles. HRP Flak Jacket. Gold Belt. Black JT boots with gators.
On the bike I had an Answer Boost Bottle. Sidewinder Sprockets and chain. Honda OEM grips with the ribs trimmed off. Answer Aluminum silencer (the one with the huge circle clip that held the end on). UNI Filter. Barnett clutch plates. My bike was sano! .
